spring

today I am feeling renewed. I am holding my children a little closer today. My spirit is feeling refreshed. I am ready to take on March and all that it offers me. ie. spring break, painting the front room--and possibly the bathroom. I am especially excited that March offers me flowers. today I am renewed.

first 5--PIF

OK! So this is how this works...the first 5 people to respond to this post will receive something made by me for you.my choice.made especially for you.of course there are some restrictions and limitations:~

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. what I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done sometime this year.
4. you have no clue what it will be... it may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something. I may bake something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure. ;-) But you do know that I neither paint, or write, right? Just a little bitty clue...
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? The catch is that you must repost this on your own blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!!

Oh! And be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

recap

Is this not a super cute pic of {a}? I love this little girl, and I can't believe how cute she is!

so this weekend was DH overnighter with the scouts. Saturday, I knew we HAD to do something. I suggested to the boys that we go to a movie, or the zoo or to g'mas for Wii. Well, I couldn't get the boys to agree on any choice, so we went to g'mas for Wii, park, lunch b-ball game of B. cute--fun to watch her play. then we went to JoAnn's and stocked up on dress patterns for {a} and more fabric. That store is going to be the death of my budget! :) Getting lots of cute fabric, though. I need more stuffing for monsters. Here are the ones I have made so far. I have given one to each of my kiddos and 2 to friends who recently had babies. Can you guess who belongs to whom? :)

cute!

I think this is funny--if you google "(your name) needs" using the quotes and see what you need. :) If you think simply, they say I need to be repaired, food, an abundance of warmth and sunlight, heat, and a foster home. Well, some are true, and some not so much. :)

tired...

ever had one of those days where even though you had a wonderful nights sleep it feels like you have only slept for 15 minutes?

That is me... today. Exhausted, headache, so not feeling the desire to cook anything for dinner.

Anyone else feeling that way today too?

work in progress...

"This is only temporary...you are a beautiful work in progress"

he said to his wife. They have been through a plane crash, he burned over 30% and she 80% of their bodies. They are both recovering nicely, or so I'm told. I don't really know them, I have only been following their story since Aug 08 shortly after the accident. They were laying in bed after a particularly "pity"-ful day. and while she was wallowing he says one simple sentence that has touched me to the core. Isn't this EXACTLY what Christ has been telling us for, well, forever? Aren't we all beautiful children of our Heavenly Father who are just a little bit scarred? Don't we all just need a little more time and love to heal our hearts? Aren't we all in need of a gentle reminder of who we are and of the amazing potential that awaits us?
Though I don't know this beautiful family, I am amazed every day with their gentle tenacity, courage and faith.

Please, always remember who you are and that this trial is only temporary, for YOU are a work in progress.

word for 2009

I am hoping that if I write it down it will become more real to me.

I follow a blog written by Ali Edwards. She is very insipring to me. She decides on a "word" for the year and focuses on it for the entire year. She encourages us to do the same. So, this year, my word is:

BECOME

definintion: to grow to be; change or develop into by growth

I plan on becoming a better wife, and mother.
I plan on becoming a better friend.
I plan on becoming more spiritual and closer to my Heavenly Father through pryaer and scripture study.
I plan on becoming more organized
I plan on becoming a better housewife. ie sort through, organize, clean out, better meals... BECOME.

It's what I need. this is something I have been thinking about for about 6 months now. It's what I need in my life and really hope to see real changes within myself through BECOMING in the year 2009. Wish me luck! :)

"HIPPO" birthday {a}

Happy birthday to my darling daughter {a}. I know, it was yesterday, but when I went to download picts from her party, the computer wouldn't work right. So, here's a recap from the party.

She got a hippo toy from Mom and Dad. She can sit on it or walk and push it from behind. She was so cute when we got it out of the box. She almost immediately knew that she needed to climb on to sit on it. Then dad figured out that you can set it up so she can walk behind it. Oh! She LOVES that idea! Isn't her face cute?Cake! Double fistin' it--my kind of girl! Happy Birthday Beautiful! We love you so much and I can't believe how fast a year has flown by. You are a joy in my life! It's crazy that just one year ago, you were this little! :) I love you {a}! Thanks Grandma B, Grandpa H and Great-Grandma W for coming to dinner and our little party. :)

christmas tree hunting

so on the saturday after t-day, we made our annual voyage to the hills to cut down our Charlie Brown Christmas tree. this first pic is of {a}. She doesn't seem too happy, but if you look at the second one, she seems to be doing ok there. :)

This year, we decided to cut down two trees- one for upstairs, one down. Just cuz we can....
what, that's IT for SNOW??? How are we supposed to sled in this??{K} helping to cut down the adsolute best tree we have ever found in 10 years of searching! Ok, well, just 8, the first year we didn't try, and then one year a few years later we didn't make the time to go... no Charlie Brown for us this year!!Look closely, I told him to smile in the first, but then he thought he needed to continue to smile all while helping Dad. {A}s turn. He was so cute, carrying the saw most of the time, cutting just about every fallen tree he could see. Carefully decorating the upstairs tree. It was fun to have the boys help this year. I really only put a handful of ornaments on either tree. {A} was so careful to not load down one branch, he looked for open spots to hang the ornaments. {A} was invited to go to a friends house to make a gingerbread house. This was the end result. :)AHHH! SNOW!!! The boys had a wonderful time playing in the snow yesterday.
