picture updates

So here is the promised picture of {A} receiving his Citizen of the Month Award the other day ot school. I didn't tell him until we were there and sitting down. DH came too, and {A} didn't even question why he was there. So, I told {A} that his teacher had picked his as CoTM and he kinda freaked out. He was like "no, she doesn't do it til the afternoon." I said, "no, he will call your name and you need to go up and get the paper" well, that didn't go over well. Then I suggested that he and I go sit by his teacher so he would be close. That was fine til we actually went up there and I told him he would have to sit on the floor and I would sit on the chair literally 3 feet from him. No, that wasn't good either. I was so frustrated that I literally had gotten DH and we were standing in the hall ready to go home, cuz he wouldn't commit to going up and taking the paper from the Principal. I wasn't going to be there just to have him not go up. His teacher suggested that he sit by his cousin who is in the morning class, and that she would go with him to get the paper. So, he finally sat down, cousin sitting next to him and when they called his name, his teacher said, "go {A} it's your turn. He stood up and walked right over to the principal. I was a little shocked after the whole "I'm scared" routine he gave us, but alas, he is the CoTM for March and we are very proud of him. He is such a different boy in school than from home. (which I am grateful for...) he is kind, and thoughtful (he gave a cute girl in his class a starburst that his dad had given him the other day). He is quiet and respectful of his teacher, always waiting his turn, raising his hand... you get the picture. What a nice little boy. This picture is of {K} who had taken his curly straw and put it part way down his shirt and was "playing" it like a trumpet. Very cute. Here are 3 quick cards that I made recently. I haven't shown anything creative in quite a while, so I thought I would tonight. I love the way these 3 turned out, I just don't have very clear pictures of them. :)

Butterfly

ok, some times I am so dense! I just now figured out that I can upload multiple pictures at the same time. Yes, I know that all of you have been doing this since the beginning on time, but today, I had a breakthrough! :)
Here are the two cards I made today. Well, I started the first one yesterday, but, I found time to finish it and make the other, too. I love how they turned out. Do you see the detailing with the holes sewed into the cardstock? I see SassyandSweet do it all the time, but this is my first adventure of sewing on cards WITHOUT thread. Cool, huh? Enjoy! The stamp set, and cardstock are SU!, but the watercolor paper and designer paper are not. The ribbon is white organdy, I just colored it with a sponged and pulled it through Soft Sky.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DH!

Last friday, DH and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary! I can hardly believe it's been 10 years already! Well, we went out to a great little restaurant on the East end of town and took {a} with us. G'ma and G'pa took the boys overnight. We enjoyed dinner, and {a} was a jewel! I can't believe how well behaved she was. It was enjoyable. I gave DH a card... as seen above, and in it was a bit of money for him to go on a pheasant hunt this fall with his brothers! Then, he suggested we go to the mall and pick out an anniversary band for me!! EEEECCKKK!!! I can't believe it, he really did it! I have been "suggesting" this gift for our 10-year for about 10 years now, and well, he listened. :) It's absolutely bee-utiful, and I will get the whole thing back on Wed. We decided to have my old piece re-rodium plated--that's fancy words for shined up so the new piece will match. I also had them resized to fit just a bit better. So, on Wed I will take a pic and show off my new bling!! :) See Mo, he did it! :) :)
PS, cute card, huh?? :) It was either this or flowers and hearts. ... :)
I want the world to know what an amazing husband I have and how grateful I am that he chose me to be his wife for eternity! I am one lucky girl.

inspiration!

Ok, girls, those of you from WeStamp!, here is a bit of inspiration. This is a card I made recently for a girlfriend of mine that had a baby shower. She is due very soon! I used fishy friends and a Michael's $ stamp. I also am having fun sewing on cards, so I did that too! Enjoy! :)

Simple

I love simple cards. Along with loving antique looking cards, folk art style cards, busy cards. OK, I love them all! But for today, I love simple cards. This is one I made a while ago, but I love the basic simpleness of it. :) Have a Happy Thursday!

IT'S SPRING!!!

Well, it's about time! We are finally feeling spring around here, and boy am I ready. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE winter, and have not complained once about all the snow this year, but I sure do love the newness of spring and all the beautiful flowers starting to sprout in my year! That is one thing I am definately going to miss about this home is my gorgeous flowerbeds. I absolutely love to look out my kitchen window and watch the flowers grow and bloom. So, in honor of spring I am posting this card I made last week. Enjoy!

BIG news!

Ok, I don't actually have big news, but the card does. :) I made this card last spring when I found out my SIL was expecting their second. I found this prego girl at Michaels and absolutely fell in love with her! She is so cute! I must admit that I didn't think of the idea of using her as the I, but I love that I have the big alpha set to use with this idea.

Details: SU! cs Marvelous Magenta and WW. the alpa set is SU, too. I used Prismacolor watercolor pencils and gamsol to color her in. I am pretty sure I found the ribbon at Michaels when I got the girl. I stamped the girl on SU! watercolor paper-- a must when using watercolor pencils.

DH is home sick today. He has yet another sinus infection! But, we slipped out for the morning and are home for lunch. He has a Dr appt this afternoon, and then I think we'll need to find somewhere else to go while he takes a nap later today. It sure is hard when our DH's are sick, isn't it!!?? I think they are the hardest kids to nurse back to good health, don't you?

Thinking of You

Well kids, I think I ought to post today. It's been a few. Today's post is a virtual card for all those who log on today. I am thinking of you! I am grateful to anyone who is lucky enough to know about this blog. :)
Details: everything on it is SU! The main image is All Natural and I am not sure of the others, but who really cares anyway, right? :)
We had a wonderful time in the "big city", but we have to go back and get some cavities filled. I have a cavity--the first in probably 15 years! :( I think {a} was a bit out of sorts while we were there, she really didn't like all the commotion of Grandma's house. But now that we're back, she seems back to her happy little self. I got some wonderful deals at the Case Goods sale at Stokes Grocery store of which I am grateful we picked that weekend to go-- I finally got mac 'n cheese for 19 cents a box! That is a fantastic price! :) Well, that's all for now--I'll check in again later.

Doodle This

I made this card just now for a One to One Swap I am participating in. I hope she likes it. I am not so sure about the coloring I did on the flower, what do you think? I used Shimmery White cs, mostly because I ran out of WW cs, oops!! But, I like the glitz that it added to this card.

Enjoy!

Baby Shower thank you's!

So, here are two of the thanks you postcards I made for {a}'s baby shower. I wanted something farely simple and quick to make, yet that still shows my talent for making cards. I hope these did the trick. I used all SU! products except for the ribbon. I think I found both at Walmart.
Today, {A} went to preschool. He is getting too smart! I love that he is progressing and is almost ready for Kindergarten! My baby is growing up too fast. We go to registration next week, I can't believe it's that time already!

i like you

Well, it's day 2 and here is another card. This one is a rectangle card. I think it will fit into a legal size envy, but it's definately an odd size. I started with the chicken from Best of Cluck and stamped her on Whisper White cs. I layered that on Close to Cocoa cs and Certainly Celery cs. I stamped the i like you on Close to Cocoa and layered in on Certainly Celery too. The i like you stamp came from Michaels in the $1 bin. I found the pattern paper at my LSS it's from American Crafts and I think the pattern is Wilder. Then I stamped the background from Itty Bitty Backgrounds in Cocoa on Celery and layerd on Cocoa. I don't know where ribbon came from. I bought it from a LSS when I was visiting the in-laws.

Enjoy!

In the Wild--zebra

Here is a card I made recently. I love the paper in the background!
I stamped the zebra in Basic Black Classic ink onto Whisper White cs, (I am a huge SU! fan, so most of the cs and ink I use is from them) then I colored in the stripes with Barely Banana marker and distressed the edges with Barely Banana classic ink. I then layered it on Basic Black cs and atteched the ribbon. Then I layered onto the oriental designer paper and again in Basic Black cs and onto a Certainly Celery card base.
Enjoy!
I find I have a really hard time giving such cute cards away--anyone else have that problem, too?
Details: In the Wild-SU!, Certainly Celery, Basic Black, WW cardstock--SU!, ribbon Celery--SU!, black ric rac--Walmart, barely banana marker--SU!, barely banana and basic black Classic ink--SU!, unknown brand of designer paper.
